Jamie Bush

Jamie Bush has been advising clients on complex financial, business and life matters for over 35 years. He is a skilled counsellor and connector of parties for their mutual benefit, often for the greater good and often for the good of the city as a whole. His clients have benefitted not only from his own counsel but also his intrinsic ability to introduce them to just the right advisor for a particular challenge.

Jamie’s team has been invited to participate in creating succession plans for closely held companies including the largest in New England seafood distribution, beer and wine wholesalers, construction services and general contractors and real estate development.

He has been privileged to serve in board positions for multiple nonprofits in the areas of healthcare, elderly housing as well as urban and suburban education and professional associations.

Jamie’s unique privilege as a member of one of America’s preeminent political families, together with his business expertise and many years of direct experience with Boston’s poor and the many institutions which reach them, have enabled him to play a role in elevating the needs of the underprivileged, the unseen and the underrepresented.

He has earned the designations of Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Special Needs Consultant, Family Business Specialist, and Retirement Income Certified Professional from The American College. He also holds FINRA Series 6, 63 and 65 licenses.

Jamie graduated from Boston College in 1978 with a BA in History. He and his wife, Sue, live in Hingham, MA and are parents to two adult children: Sarah, married to Drake, and Sam, married to Maddy. They also have five grandchildren, Draper, George, Beatrice, Auden and Elliott.

William “Drake” Richey


Drake Richey

Prior to joining Bush & Company in 2015, Drake was a Senior Vice President at Wells Fargo Bank in New York City in the Government and Institutional Banking group, which provides a wide range of financial services to meet the unique needs of government and not-for-profit organizations. He was the chief credit officer and lead credit strategist for public power utilities across the United States, overseeing a portfolio of $4.5 billion in loans and letters of credit.

Previously, Drake served as a Director at Fitch Ratings in the Residential Mortgage Backed Securities and Public Finance groups, writing and publishing independent credit research on 50 companies annually.

After college and before starting at Fitch Ratings, Drake and his wife Sarah spent two years working for the Fellowship of Christians in Universities and Schools (FOCUS), which helps support Christian ministries at independent schools across New England.

Drake earned a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Economics with a minor in Chinese language from Trinity College in Hartford, CT. he also holds his FINRA Series 65 and 7. He and Sarah live in Charlestown, MA and have three kids, Draper, George, and Beatrice.

Catherine S. Coombs

Director of Operations

Cait Coombs

Cait joined Bush & Company in 2010 and serves as the Director of Operations. In this capacity, she is the point person for all business operations, including new business submission, contracting and licensing as well as ongoing client relationship management and service.

Prior to joining Bush & Company, Cait’s career was focused on client service both remotely and in house, including Aramark Uniform Services, Sun Life Financial and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts.

Cait has a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate and Broadcast Communications from Elon University in Elon, NC. She currently resides in Walpole, MA with her husband George and their son, RJ.

Michael W. Weiner

Michael Weiner

Michael Weiner is a financial advisor with the Commonwealth Financial Group in Boston. He is intimately familiar with available benefits and supports, and provides families guidance regarding how to integrate those supports into their unique circumstances, and create a sound financial solution to help provide the resources their children and families need throughout their lives.

He is currently the Treasurer, and board member, at the Federation for Children with Special Needs, and sits on his local Department of Developmental Services advisory council.

Michael resides in Medfield, MA with Susan, his wife of more than thirty years. Their eldest son, Ben, lives in Washington D.C., and their youngest, Zack, currently resides in Brookline with a roommate and adult caregiver. Although Zack has an intellectual disability and requires significant support, he is working a full time job, and is an active participant in his community.

Perry M. Smith, JD*, LL.M, CLU, ChFC, CFP

Perry Smith

Bush & Company has formed a strategic partnership with Perry Smith, who provides our clients a resource for technical support in estate and business planning.

Perry graduated with honors from Dartmouth College with an AB in both Policy Studies and Government and received his JD at American University’s Washington College of Law and LL.M. (Tax) at Boston University Law School.

His past positions include Advanced Sales Attorney with New England Life, Trust Officer with US Trust Company of New York, and the Financial Services Director of a large New England CPA firm.

Perry also taught the estate and gift tax course in Boston University’s Metropolitan College Financial Planning Program for 14 years.

He also holds CLU®, ChFC®, and CFP® designations and is a Licensed Insurance Advisor in Massachusetts. In addition, Perry is also a member of the Boston Estate Planning Counsel, The Massachusetts Bar association, and is a past president of the Society of Financial Services Professionals.

Perry and his wife Eva reside in Wellesley, Massachusetts. They enjoy world travel and staying active outdoors.

Thomas C. Rogerson

For over 20 years, Tom Rogerson has counseled and assisted successful Bush & Company clients and friends around communication, philanthropic vision, succession and legacy planning, and education. These often overlooked issues are incorporated into our clients’ wealth management plan, not only helping prepare the money for the family but preparing the family for the money.

As a recognized leader and pioneer in family governance throughout the world, Tom brings more than three decades of experience to wealth management.  In that time, he has provided guidance and education to hundreds of families, helping them transition significant financial and human capital from one generation to the next.

Prior to starting his private practice in 2017, Tom was with Wilmington Trust. Prior to that, Tom was Managing Director of Family Wealth Services for BNY Mellon, National Director of Estate Tax Planning with State Street Global Advisors in Boston, and Director of Financial and Estate Tax Planning with Coopers and Lybrand. He holds a bachelor’s in Economics from Ithaca College.

Tom has spoken for years on the topic of family governance for wealthy individuals, family offices, and entrepreneurs. Engagements include The Young Presidents Organization, The World Presidents Organization, Harvard University Business School, Lincoln Center, Yale University, Dallas Theological Seminary, the Museum of Modern Art, The Nature Conservancy, New York Botanical Garden, The Dallas Foundation, The New York Community Trust and The Boston Foundation.
